The Living Library Book Club
Part One: Introductions
What happens when founders, authors, nonprofit leaders, and innovators come together to talk about the stories that shaped their lives?
In the first installment of The Living Library Book Club, Michael Shoeman welcomes a diverse group of guests for a conversation about purpose, personal growth, and the experiences that brought them to their current work.
Rather than beginning with books, the conversation begins with people.
Participants share:
What they are currently creating and stewarding
The missions and organizations they serve
The experiences that shaped their worldview
The challenges, opportunities, and callings they are carrying right now
Featured voices include leaders working in:
Regenerative ecosystems and living soil initiatives
Leadership development and emotional intelligence
Spiritual growth and human evolution
Humanity’s relationship with artificial intelligence
Time banking, community building, and economic innovation
Along the way, the conversation explores themes of service, collaboration, healing, purpose, and what it means to answer a call that is larger than ourselves.
One participant is navigating a family medical emergency while facilitating the discussion. Others share stories of nonprofit leadership, book writing, spiritual inspiration, entrepreneurship, and the unexpected journeys that led them to their current work.
Before discussing favorite books or influential stories, the group asks a simpler question:
Who are we, and what are we bringing to this conversation?
This opening chapter sets the stage for the rest of the series by introducing the people behind the ideas and exploring the common thread
All time spent watching and engaging with this presentation is creditable at the Living Library Time Bank.
We believe that learning, reflection, and meaningful conversation create value. Through the Living Library Time Bank, viewers may receive credit for the time they invest in watching, participating, and helping to grow a culture of shared learning.
In Part Two, The Stories That Inspired Us, participants share the books, authors, characters, and teachings that helped shape their lives and their missions.
Because every story begins somewhereโand every book has a reader before it has a writer.
