The Story That Didn’t (…)

“Who wants to be the dead hero of a story no one is waiting for?”

A story by Ellen Den Hollander. Read by Michael Shoeman. Artwork by Ellen Den Hollander.

“The Story That Didn’t (…)” is a piece articulating why the survivors of organized trafficking and child abuse have difficulty talking about their experiences. The viewer is invited into a deeper conversation about what resonates viewing the piece and where there is a disconnection felt.

The video was produced by “time banking” five hours of service on the Karmic Margin Call platform. The Karmic Margin Call Project is dedicated to curating volunteer hours in an effort to call attention to regenerative economic practices. It is a place where teachers, artists and services providers can create and be heard away from the exploitation of the extractive economy.
