Trauma Sensitive Leadership: Janet Berkowitz

Living Library, Episode 19

The Trauma Sensitive Leadership Series is a new branch of the Living Library Series. Our mission is to open up conversations about mental health, spirituality and politics from a trauma-informed perspective. We hope to bridge the gap in misunderstandings by asking “What happened to you?” instead of asking “What is wrong with you?”

In this installment, Janet Berkowitz discusses the creative methods she has developed around addressing bullying and suicidality. As an artist and certified peer specialist, Janet has championed creating spaces where power alignment and equality become possible.

The Living Library Series was inspired by the Human Library concept originating in Denmark. The purpose of these conversations is to honor diversity, equality and inclusivity in the spirit of “not judging a book by its cover”. All hours spent viewing The Living Library conversations may be redeemed as an “Hour Served” at the Karmic Margin Call Project Time Bank.
